Bob Dylan - Like a rolling stone

A true turning point: 45 years ago today Dylan went electric at Newport.

DYLAN GOES ELECTRIC
The Newport Folk Festival, July 1965

from Robert Shelton, No Direction Home: The Life and Music of Bob Dylan, New York, 1986, pp. 301-304.

At the Newport Festival in July 1965, Dylan played three songs with a rock backing and unleashed a storm of derision.

NJ Summer Cruising and Bench Racing

At one time Hatboro was one of the hottest crusing spots on the east coast, there was even articles written about the cruising scene in Hot Rod magazine and in Car Craft magazine.

Some Hatboro Hot Rodders are working to bring cruising back to Hatboro Pa.
The first Thursday of every month you can meet up at the Mcdonald's parking lot in the center of town, and will be cruising town for a couple of hours, come on out and join us -bring your Hot Rod, Muscle car or Antique car and make a few lap aroud the strip.

On the 3rd friday on every month a group of NJ HAMB members get together for a meet and greet at Edison Park in Edison, NJ behind Middlesex County College, Mill Road.  Just a bunch of car people, talkin cars, and lookin over each others rides, no DJ, no trophies, rods and customs, and a good time!

Something the dog said....

The dog with his head out the window, mouth closed, the wind folding his jowls and exposing his clenched teeth like he was growling at the hot sun. He’s been like that for the last 150 miles, 65mph winds shooting through his nose and exiting out his ears. Wonder why the dog don’t get hit with any of these bugs that splatter against my windshield. Ah cheez, talking to myself. Five hours of driving through the middle of nowhere and I’m loosing it. Ha funny, the dog just looked at me, he knows.

Journey further

He walked in a circle backwards to get where he started only to find that what he thought was the point of departure was no different than any place he had already been. He found this to be quite confusing as he had been traveling forward for quite sometime and spent just as good amount of time going backwards. He still had no idea where he’d been or where he was going but had gained quite a bit of wear and tear for his troubles.

Whats in my ear these day's

The Heavy:  combines, Jazz, Soul, Reggae, Rock, Rhythm and Blues with a little New Orleans dixieland Jazz. Really great live band.
The core of the group, guitarist Dan Taylor and vocalist Kelvin Swaby, became friends in 1990 when they bonded over vintage R&B and Jim Jarmusch films. The other members of the band are drummer Chris Ellul, bassist Spencer Page, and keyboardist Hannah Collins.  Visit thier site...The Heavy

Give it a listen....Live Shock Sessions performance!

Longing for those summer night's

Man, what a time can be had on hot summer nights, everybody coming and going from every which way, north, south, east, west, their jamming their foot down on old rubber, blasting to get some place cool.
Don’t matter if it’s four, eight, six, flat, slant, inline, it’s gassed and ready to run. Hoodlums and chicks, they dig it like that, fast and furious waiting on that flag to drop and rubber to burn.
Chilling and grooving to finger snapping sounds that are out of this world. Wrenching and benching under mid summer nights, Daddy-O it don’t get no better than that.
