Melody Walker and Jacob Groopman Announce Fall Tour Dates

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, respectively, singer-songwriter Melody Walker and picker extraordinaire Jacob Groopman have fused their influences into a style they like to call “Americali.” They define it as Americana with a California twist, but of course, it’s much more. Drawing from genres including bluegrass, rock, jazz, classical, Afrobeat, samba and Balkan folk, yet staying close to their American folk roots, the duo create literate music that honors tradition, yet sounds completely of the moment.

In September of 2012, Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray released their first full-length offering, entitled We're From Here. Immediately afterwards, the Americana duo (turned psych/blues/rock/folk trio) embarked on a two month tour to support that release.


Their last digital-only album Live @ DC9 was recorded during the final show of that 45-date venture at DC9 in Washington, DC last November, where they shared the stage with Laura Tsaggaris and The Weathervanes. Featuring DC native Ben Tufts on drums, this live album was the conclusion to a year spent in the studio and on the stage, with thousands of miles logged on the road. Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray didn't sleep much, but their songs have never sounded more focused or energetic.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club announce fall tour dates supporting their latest album, 'Specter at the Feast' with two stops in the NY area: Warsaw on October 4 with Texas band, Restavrnt, and Asbury Park, NJ's Stone Pony the day before (10/3) with Deap Vally. Tickets to the Stone Pony are already on sale; tickets to Warsaw go on sale Friday (8/9) at 10 AM.
