Virginia- based singer/songwriter John Harouff, has released another new song from his solo project Dead Professional using rudimentary drum loops and a pair of vocal processors, 'Downtown at Sundown' is the second free download he has released since Febuary this year, grab this easy breeze upbeat rocker and shake rattle and roll.
Virginia- based singer/songwriter John Harouff, (half of the duo The Cinnamon Band which is on hiatus) launched his solo project Dead Professional in February 2013. Using rudimentary drum loops and a pair of vocal processors this one man band brings a brutally minimalist modern edge to old school song-craft full of lyrical punch lines, addictive hooks, and pathos that sneaks up on you.
He has been compared to that of Nick Lowe, Tom Petty, Big Star and Tunnel of Love-era Springsteen.
As a solo act or fronting his previous duo The Cinnamon Band, Harouff has shared the stage with the likes of The Hold Steady, Sharon Van Etten, Fiery Furnaces, Ariel Pink, Justin Townes Earle, White Rabbits, Blood Orange, The infamous Stringdusters and most notably, long-time tour mates The Handsome Furs (featuring Dan Boekner of Wolf Parade and Divine Fits).
