Rollicking, dark, sultry and dangerously fun with that touch of noir rock I dig so much. The Bandicoots 'This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things' conjures images of a Mickey Spillane and Quentin Tarantino collaboration. It's the wee hours before dawn, a test screen is on the tee vee. a whack across your head finds you coming too on the floor, a dead body next to you. You remember nothing but this album runs through your head in a loop. You want to know more. What happened? Who are these guys? There's a story here and you can fill in the blanks as you like.
"By the time that you read this note, I'll be gone. leaving town, leaving town, leaving town, I'm leaving town."This is a strong debut by a band I definitely want to hear more from, in the meantime This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things will be in heavy rotation.
“Conceived in the center of a parallel universe, The Bandicoots have wielded the power of the cosmos and set our sights on planet Earth. Enveloped in enigma, ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’ is a collection of stardust designed to send your imagination to other side.” - Lead singer Justin Ross
Nicolai Kozel (lead guitar) - Andrew Parkinson (drums) - Lorant Polya (bass)
Justin Ross (vocals/rhythm guitar)
The EP was produced by Michael Keire (The Dirty Nil, Wildlife), and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, The Arctic Monkeys).
