Trout Steak Revival "Live At Swallow Hill" FREE Download

From Trout Steak Revivals beginnings as an informal jamming unit during treks through the peaks of the Front Range, this Denver based roots quintet has evolved into one of Colorado’s most tightly knit, hard-driving bluegrass bands. Their brand of heartfelt songwriting blends dynamic musicianship with intricately woven harmonies, all tied together with the unmistakable sound of their years of friendship.

Band members Steve Foltz (Mandolin and Guitar), Will Koster (Dobro, Guitar), Casey Houlihan (Upright Bass), Travis McNamara (Banjo), Bevin Foley (Fiddle) follow in the bluegrass tradition, with each member of the band composing original tunes and adding harmonies. From sweat-soaked clubs to mountain festivals, the five-piece has shown a tenacity for quick-picking and all the right polish without sacrificing the raw feeling of well-executed bluegrass. The band has earned a place in the mountain states roots scene, performing to sold-out audiences, and placing in the Rockygrass Band Competition. Keeping an eye on traditions of the past but boldly forging into new territory, Trout Steak takes us back to memories of whiskey, laughter, and the misty high country where the band was born.
The EP contains two new originals “Go On” and “Union Pacific,” cover versions of Bob Dylan’s “It takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes A Train to Cry,” Harlan Howard and Freddie Hart’s “It Takes One To Know One,” Tim O’Brien’s instrumental “The High Road,” and a cover of The Tallest Man on Earths song “Where Do My Bluebirds Fly” that was on Trout Steak Revivals sophomore CD “Flight.”
