Chelsea Light Moving - New LP and US Tour

On March 5 (March 4 in Europe), Matador Records will be releasing Chelsea Light Moving’s eponymous 1st full-length LP/CD/digital album.
I remember back in July when first I heard Chelsea Light Moving’s take on the grizzly subject of two late-’60s East Village hippies whose dreams of peace and love ended in a shooting. 'Groovy and Linda' I was hooked on Thurston Moore's latest endeavor.

The group formed this past June and until this point, the Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore-spearheaded quartet with Keith Wood, Samara Lubelski, and John Moloney have dropped periodic MP3′s on the unsuspecting populace, along with road testing their live show in locations as far flung as Gothenberg, Sweden and Denver, CO.
Their first U.S. tour commences Sat., March 2, at Hoboken, NJ’s Maxwell’s a 20-date tour that stops at Philly’s Union Transfer on April 3rd

“Burroughs” is the first track from a session recorded in the wilds of Western Massachusetts in the springtime of 2012. It was inspired by the last words of the gentleman who wrote the most significant experimental novels of the late 20th century (Naked Lunch, Soft Machine, The Ticket That Exploded etc.) – writer William S. Burroughs (“Love? What is it? Most natural painkiller what there is.”). After sitting in the orgone box planted in Burroughs’ back yard of Lawrence, Kansas in the midpoint of the 1990s, Thurston Moore came to the realization that at some point he’d need to form a band that played Burroughs Rock.
