New Woodsman EP Teleseparation + European Tour Dates

Teleseparation EP is a companion piece to the self titled "Woodsman" LP released earlier this year. A long form stream of consciousness broken into 4 parts which the last track on that album was excerpted from. A glimpse into the recording process for the true zoners out there in this big world.

Here's a little info on the EP
" The last track on our self titled album from earlier this year was a composition we pulled from a much longer studio take. One way Woodsman approaches recording is to set up live and start playing with no preconceived notions of where we’re headed or where we might end up. It’s an exercise in chance and trust and really allows us to get out of our heads for a bit. That track “Teleseparation” was the distillation of a 30 minute jam that was excerpted and overdubbed on top of. This EP works as a companion piece to the record and lays out that entire 30 minute jam in 4 parts, no overdubs. If you listen to the EP then the more concise track back to back, you can really get a glimpse into the creative process. The EP is special in another way too because it marks the last time all four original members were in the studio together."

Preview> MELODIME "Where The Sinners & The Saints Collide," deluxe edition

MELODIME, a rock band that blends haunting bittersweet melodies with emotionally rich vocals atop a bed of Southern-flavored alt rock, will be releasing its album, Where the Sinners & the Saints Collide, in a deluxe edition (with six new songs and a new band member) on September 2, 2014 via Rock Ridge Music.  With the original album fully funded by their loyal and ever-growing fan base during their “Make an album, change a life” campaign, the band is donating 100% of the profits from album sales to a non-profit foundation they started called Now I Play Along Too, which provides musical instruments and education for orphans, victims of disasters, and underprivileged kids locally and around the world.  Where the Sinners & the Saints Collide was recorded at Black Dog Sound Recording Studios outside of Atlanta, GA with producer Rick Beato (Shinedown, NEEDTOBREATHE, Charlie Mars).
“We want to do something with our lives beyond the music to show people that you don't have to be famous to make an impact in this world,” says lead vocalist and guitarist Bradley Rhodes.
Inspired by the gift of musical instruments years ago to a family member by an anonymous person (the song “Brothers,” which is new to the deluxe edition, tells this tale in musical form), they are continuing that story and putting instruments into the hands of people who would've never been able to afford them.

This idea of looking outside yourself is woven throughout Where the Sinners & the Saints Collide, along with the concepts of coming together, regardless of differences, to do some good.
“The album carries strong themes of redemption and has songs about picking yourself up from your boot straps, using those past mistakes and failures to make yourself a better person to help people who may be ‘lost and broken,’” says Rhodes, who adds that the theme picks up where their 2011 album 3 Reasons For Fighting left off.

Virginia-based MELODIME, whose influences growing up included rock from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s instead of what kids their age were into, began as a trio and is now a fleshed-out quartet – Bradley Rhodes (vocals, guitar), brothers Sammy Duis (piano, organ, bass) and Tyler Duis (drums), and new member Jon Wiley (guitar, vocals) – that plays upwards of 150 shows a year. They have performed up and down the East Coast, including such legendary clubs as D.C.’s 9:30 Club and N.Y.’s The Bitter End, nabbing a spot on the 2014 and 2015 The Rock Boat cruise festival with Sister Hazel, Barenaked Ladies, Tonic, Collective Soul, Edwin McCain, and others

NEW Release from Joe Sundell - The Hat Thief

Y'all know I dig a storytelling troubadour, Residing in Austin, TX, Joe Sundell shoots right up my list of the great new crop of singer/songwriters purveying in the art of modern day minstrel's. Joe incorporates a great New Orleans vibe in his rustic americana blues with real salt of the earth folk tales. There's everything here from Ol' timey swing to Rock n Roll. Joe is definitely someone to watch and I consider The Hat Thief essential listening and a Best of 2014 release.
Joe worked on the 12 original songs for over a year and a half. The tracking was completed with Alex Moore at Lunchroom Audio in Buda, TX and includes some fantastic musicians such as David Jellema on cornet and clarinet and Western Swing hall of famer Jake Erwin on bass. The album was mixed at EAR Studio with famed producer Billy Lee Myers formerly of Austin City Limits.

Born and raised in rural Southeast Arkansas, Joe picked up guitar at the age of 13 and his first memories of music are playing with his father in the living room at the family home. Along with his brother Jack, they played a variety of folk and traditional music on family occasions. At 19 while
attending Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, Sundell began to play banjo and two years later formed his first band the Damn Bullets. After college Sundell moved to Austin, Texas where he has released a total of five albums and is a founding member of Sad Daddy, the Austin Steamers, and the Show and Tellers. His music has been described as a combination of many different genres of American music, most notably Bluegrass, Western Swing, Dixieland Jazz, Country Blues, Folk, and Ragtime. He has done numerous tours both as a solo artist and with his various groups, going to both coasts of the United States as well as across the water to the United Kingdom and Europe. His second full length solo album in 2014, the Hat Thief, was released in August 2014. Goat Motel was released in Febuary.

Listen> The Harmonica Lewinskies NEW Single Put Your Mouth On Me

“Put Your Mouth On Me” highlights The Harmonica Lewinskies two main influences. They mix the blues-rock sounds from The Rolling Stones with a classic punk inspiration from Iggy Pop. Those two sounds, combined with the group’s hilarious, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, come together for a unique listening experience.
The Harmonica Lewinskies are an eight-piece jazz-funk band the group is international, with members from Australia and the U.S. Their mix of sounds is what makes the band unique, with a style that’s just as memorable as their name. They have been together for five years.

Thier second album Dad Rock is slated for release on Sept. 23. Their first album was 2012’s Octopus Wall Street, which was followed by Salad Days in 2013.
