Austin, Texas rockers Sounds del Mar began as a side-project of friends who met working as sound engineers and it shows in the lush production of the album. Their sound is something new and exciting to my ears, I'd call it glam funk. It's fresh, funky and fun rock and roll! Where the heck are my platform shoes? I wanna dance!
They have an undeniable sonic chemistry, and live shows are legendary for wild excess and reckless abandon onstage.
Their debut album, Miami Vice’n, was recently released on Nine Mile Records home of wild man Shiney Ribs.
It was written, produced, recorded, and mixed entirely by Sounds del Mar, with some gear on loan and a little help from friends including their man Alex Lyon, who mastered the album at The Bubble’s brand-new facility. Sounds del Mar has confirmed US tour dates beginning in April 2015 and extending throughout the summer and fall. See dates below.
