18 Savory Sounds The Appetizer by Built4BBQ

Formed by local punk-Americana dudes The Slaughterhouse Chorus and Henry’s Rifle, the Built4BBQ record collective released the first of three planned 2013 sampler albums. The 18-track compilation, dubbed The Appetizer, features music from associated artists Charmboy, The Pistolwhips, The End Men, Bridge Under Fire, Maggot Brain and Linear North, as well as numerous special guests representing the best in independent Empire State music. Punk, country, folk, metal, blues, powerviolence, post-hardcore, psychedelic rock, garage… whatever your flavor, it’s all there on The Appetizer sampler. Built4BBQ invites you dig in at www.built4bbq.com, where the sampler is available for free download in a variety of formats.

Built4BBQ is a collection of like-minded musicians from the Capital Region and beyond, banding together in the name of good tunes and good times. Fully DIY in approach, the members of Built4BBQ produce and package their own albums, screen their own merchandise and book their own shows. Additional releases slated for 2013 include The Pistolwhips’ Solid Gold Zeppelin full-length, a full-length from Henry’s Rifle and two more samplers: The Entree, due in July, and Dessert, out this winter (the winter that comes after the current one – Ed.).

The Slaughterhouse Chorus and The End Men bring Built4BBQ on the road this week, joining forces for a 10-date U.S. tour known as “No Tour For Old Men”. The tour kicks off in Brooklyn and finishes up at Valentines in Albany on March 30.
