Cross Town Train NEW Release Start To Fade NEW Video Water

Jersey post-punk poppers, Cross Town Train are not starting to fade, that's just the name of their latest release, 'Start To Fade'. No, far from it the Central Jersey alt-rockers are furiously barreling forward, on track and on schedule with a robust, rambunctious new release that's bound to pick up new passengers as they tour behind this release.
Tight as tungsten steel the lads lay down tracks with flippant veracity, angst and animosity abound, the songs are powerful and poignant from a maturing band, the train has left the station, but it's not too late, I suggest you catch it at the next stop......

Watch and Listen too the two singles released so far, this is the real deal folks.

On News Talk 1340 AM (WJRW) Grand Rapids’ they chatted about their music and perform a new song on the air as part of Local Spins Live and played an instrumental surf tune that was as yet unnamed, the band gave it an apropos, on-the-spot working title, “Tori’s Elevator Song.”

Tumbleweed Wanderers - NEW Album Realize

Longtime favorites of badassery and kick arsery their debut EP Worn Down Welcome has been a constant companion since release in '13 so I've been watching and waiting on this bad boy to find the light of day, and with the new album Realize, Tumbleweed Wanderers delivered a chest pounder of tasty tunes, it is a highfalutin rock n roll reverie!
Pick it up on
iTunes:
Bandcamp:

or Soundcloud
Tumbleweed Wanderers have come a long way in four years. Transitioning from busking in the Bay Area, the band have escalated to sharing the stage with Angus Stone on a North American tour to supporting Greensky Bluegrass, Moon Taxi and The Revivalists, among others, on national tours.
Additionally, the band have opened for Jackie Greene & the Mother Hips at The Fox in Oakland and left impressions at several notable festivals including Outside lands, Hangout, Shaky Kneesand Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

Busking outside of countless Bay Area venues, Tumbleweed Wanderers took stage on the streets of San Francisco with hopes of, simply, sharing their music. Imagine a hat filled with crumpled dollars and a small crowd gathered- smiling and swaying to the beat of a washboard, mandolin, banjo and guitar. Because of dedication, drive and pure stubborn persistence- in two short years the band went from playing sidewalk jam sessions to headlining those venues. From acoustic sets to electric rock explosions. From the crowd swaying in the open air to throwing down in a jam-packed club.

The story and sound of Tumbleweed Wanderers -- an Americana inspired mix of soul and classic rock-n-roll -- spread throughout the Bay, the West Coast and across the country, essentially, independently.  Through constant touring, supporting some of the best road warriors in the game (Moon Taxi, Greensky Bluegrass, Angus Stone, Jackie Green, The Revivalists) and wowing audiences at major festivals (Outside Lands, Hangout, Shaky Knees, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass) the band solidified themselves as a not-to-be-missed live experience.

Now, after a year in the making, Tumbleweed Wanderers new album, Realize, is set to showcase the evolution of this talented rock band.

For Realize, Tumbleweed Wanderers demoed over twenty songs in a San Francisco mansion-turned-home-studio; as well as, cutting fifteen basic tracks at Panoramic Studios in Stinson Beach. These tracks were incessantly overdubbed, rearranged and tweaked for months on end.  Their layers of harmonies, guitars, keyboards, string quartets, and pedal steels added unparalleled dynamics throughout the album.

After whittling the record down to the tightest eleven songs, they recruited Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse) to provide the fresh ears and creative spark needed to mix the record. Brian Lucey (Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys) was brought on board to master the album, giving it the rock-n-roll sheen they tenaciously sought.

The final product, available late Spring 2015, represents Tumbleweed Wanderers in their most honest state – a deep, and colorful blending of the band’s collective influences stemming from a kaleidoscope of American traditions: soul, americana, psychedelia-- all grounded in a fearless backbone of pure rock-n-roll.

PREMIERE> Black Casino and the Ghost NEW Video Age of Contagion, from upcoming album Until the Water Runs Clear

There's nothing usual about Black Casino and the Ghost everything they've done to this point in style, substance and musically is boundary pushing. Vocalist Elisa Zoot brings a seductive dark edginess, dangerous and menacing. The band pulsate's around these vocals like spectral shadows, casting gossamer melody's, haunting harmonies and resounding resonance. Beautifully crafted compositions and lavish instrumentation, BCATG create Alternative-rock for the disaffected.

Elisa Zoot (vocals, piano), Ariel Lerner (guitar), Gary Kilminster (bass) and Paul Winter-Hart (drums – also member of Kula Shaker)
After releasing their debut EP “Falling Into Pieces” in 2011 and their first album “Some Dogs Think Their Name is No” in 2013, the band are back with a new LP, “Until the Water Runs Clear”, to be published in late 2015

“Age of Contagion”, the first track from the new album, a montage of visuals taken from Bogdanovich’s 1968 sci fi movie “Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women” is an alternative-rock mix of different influences, ranging from David Axelrod to Broadcast to Nancy Sinatra and the Doors. It was entirely recorded, mixed and mastered by Ariel in the band’s studio. The lyrics explore the idea of change and evolution. A newly found awareness calls for the listener to take his/her steps across a menacing bridge towards mutation and discovery. “Just go, don’t look down. I’m going to give you one last taste of danger”.
The song will be available on Black Casino and the Ghost’s Bandcamp, SoundCloud and YouTube pages before the full length album is released.

Black Casino will unveil tracks from the album at The Finsbury in London on July 10th.

Black Casino and the Ghost's website can be found here. They're also on FacebookTwitter,Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

Exclusive Premiere> The Foresters NEW Single 'Machines' from upcoming album Sun Songs

We've long been following this band, the three brothers from Connecticut were founded in 2010 when they  were eleven, nine, and seven, When they made thier debut in 2013 at the Couch by Couchwest Festival, the staff appropriated them as their own and they lit up the festival as attendees far and wide sung their praise. Returning for the next three years they shared a continued growth and maturity with an enthusiastic audience, earning a coveted CXCW Blue Ribbon There is Hope for the Future Award.

The Foresters continue to deliver outstanding modern Rock n Roll, Building on the past with fresh ears, eyes and unbridled talent. Even at their age this will be the last time I reference them as a young band they've established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, in their home state, and beyond.
Seasoned, sophisticated music writing, mad musical skills they've plowed through pop, punk, rock and experimental on past records developing a style and sound uniquely their own.
Their NEW Album 'Sun Songs'  scheduled for worldwide release on July 21st finds the trio at the top of their game (so far) apparently they are only limited by their own imagination and drive.

The album is available for pre-order through the Dord Music Group and digitally via Bandcamp
The record release show on July 18th will be a celebration of all the hard work and creativity that went into making the album a reality. All proceeds from tickets sold will be donated directly to Lyric Hall, helping the venue continue to support the thriving New Haven arts community. In addition to The Foresters, the lineup features Connecticut Music Award “Best New Band” finalists, l o o m, and Batkhi Dahn. There will be advanced copies of the album and limited edition commemorative posters exclusively at the show. Anyone who wants the latest and greatest is invited join the party! Presale tickets, including a discounted bundle, are available now

The second single from the record 'Machine' drops tomorrow June 16th but I'm proud to be able to present it here for your listening pleasure.

'Machines', hard driven by thick bass, wickedly wild drum flourishes and tight harmonies and vocals, will have you bouncing in your seat, or Jimmie jumping up and down and singing along, a perfect summer blasting down the highway song. The ear-worm on this one is strong.

Theatrical scamp rock group Fable Cry NEW Dark and Dastardly Video “The Good Doctor”

Bonding over the whimsical, theatrical and comical and donning a variety of musical influences from Danny Elfman to Queen to Gogol Bordello, Fable Cry showcases their vaudevillian persona in all their music and performances. Thier NEW Album We'll Show You Where The Monsters Are”, drops at the end of August of which I am in the process of digesting now, this band has everything I dig covered, bizarre with a touch of Noir and edge of the seat attention-grabbing antics.

“The Good Doctor” is the 2nd single from the ensemble rock outfit, and the video is directed by Ryan Rehnborg and Zach Ferrin.
"The story of FRANKENSTEIN has been told and retold so many times, we wanted to do something that wasn’t tired yet.  We’ve always been huge fans of puppetry so I think a video like this has been a long time coming for us.  We’ve incorporated puppetry into our live shows, and made friends with loads of talented puppeteers from all over the country.  About a year ago, we met Mallory Kimbrell and Cassie Hamilton, of the “Sailors and Maidens” puppet duo here in Nashville, when we asked them to be apart of a vaudeville show we were putting on.  We met and instantly knew we needed to work together!  Now, one year later, we’ve done that and the results are MAD.  This video definitely marks the first of many collaborations we will do with them.

Originally founded by Zach Ferrin and his sister in 2010 who, together mastered guitar, violin, drums, accordion, glockenspiel, kazoo, banjo, ukulele, and cello, Fable Cry released their first full-length self-titled album in 2011. The band grew over the past several years to include members to play the aforementioned instruments: Joshua Dent (cello), Jo Cleary (violin/vocals), Scott Fernandez (bass), Rachel Gerlach (drums).  Together, they bonded over a love of the imaginative, theatrical, comical and whimsical creativity of Walt Disney, Charlie Chaplin and Tim Burton. Donning  a wide range of musical influences, including Danny Elfman, Foxy Shazam, Muse, Tom Waits, and Queen

LISTEN: Sharkmuffin NEW Single First Date from upcoming debut full-length, Chartreuse

Sharkmuffin's roots are in the choppy, rough waves of the Jersey shore, they met on July 4, 2012 only months before the very beach house in which they met was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
Turbulent Thrash is a good descriptor of the music Tarra Thiessen (vocals/guitar/theremin/pocket piano) and bassist/vocalist Natalie Kirch make, from The Ventures to early Black Sabbath churned through an undercurrent of surfed up psychedelic power pop.

Following up to their last release “1097” EP, named after the beach house Natalie and Tarra first jammed at they've announced the release of their debut full-length, Chartreuse, enlisting ex-Hole / current Upset drummer, Patty Schemel. The album is due on vinyl, cassette, and digital download on August 7th via NY / NJ-based label State Capital Records and Little Dickman Records.
“Chartreuse is mine and Natalie’s favorite color, but it’s also a liqueur whose recipe is only known by two monks, and each monk only knows half the recipe and has to keep it a secret,” Thiessen says. “All the tracks are really bright, in your face, and obvious like the color, but all lyrically deal with relationship dynamics involving things that for better or worse were hidden from each other.”
Listen to the new flesh tearing, screamer of a single. First Date an intense jangly punked up fast-paced romp stomp much like the date it describes.

Sharkmuffin are:
Tarra Thiessen -  Guitar/Vocals
Natalie Kirch - Bass/Vocals
Patty Schemel - Drums

Ypsilanti, Michigan's Misfits: Fangs and Twang New Single American Bigfoot

Ypsilanti, MI's Misfits, Fangs and Twangs a brand new project by members of the gypsy punk mischief making, rollicking carnivalesque troupe Black Jake and the Carnies,
The trio Billy LaLonde (drums, vocals), Andy Benes (guitar, vocals), and Joe Bertoletti (bass, vocals) started writing and playing shows last fall inspired by Joe's trip to Austin, TX (he saw Dale Watson playing a roadhouse and providing the soundtrack for a game of chicken-shit bingo), some improvised vampire lyrics that Billy belted out (causing those in the room to spit out drinks with laughter), and Andy's twangy Telecaster licks (face melting), the 'monster country' concept was born. Thier mission is to fill the void of twangy country rock songs about bigfoot, vampires, mummies, zombies, and other mystical creatures.

In their brief tenure as a band, they have logged shows in and out of Michigan and opened for national acts like Possessed by Paul James and the Red Elvises. They will be appearing at Ann Arbor's Top of the Park on June 17, the Bling Pig on July 30th (Record Release party), and Holler Fest in the Irish Hills of Michigan on August 22.

Reminiscent of The Guess Who's American Woman, play these two songs back to back and you'll realize she may have found her mate with Fangs and Twangs first single  "He's a big, hairy, all-American cowbell playing Bigfoot"

Streaming and free download available: forthcoming record, due out in July,

Beginning as a group of high school friends playing Arctic Monkeys covers in a garage, the band has since spent the past five years cultivating their unique sound. Blending distorted and spacey guitars, dreamy keyboards and organ with a tight-as-fuck rhythm section that fills dance floors, the band perfectly supports Tom Pitts’ story telling lyrics that tend to hit close to home.

Listen to the hard driving, angst-filled wayward millennial anthem “On My Way” with soaring guitar licks punchy piano tickling and salty vocals, it hollers for replays. It will be released 26th June 2015 on Pavement Records.

On My Way was recorded by Richard Bowers (drummer/engineer for Magic Bones) at Soundpark studios in Northcote, Melbourne. The track was recorded live and straight onto tape, instead of layering instruments and searching for ‘perfect’ takes. Any blemishes and wrong notes were kept in the recording as they give the song a more raw and honest sound.

Members: Tom Pitts - Vocals/Piano Kate Monger - Keys/Vocals Sam Lund - Guitar Pat Arnold - Guitar Nick Tresco - Bass David Loney - Drums

First Listen> Woody Pines NEW single Make It To The Woods

Any encounter with Woody Pines the feeling of kinship and friendship is immediate whether, on Instagram, twitter or listening to his music, it's intimate, we're occupying the same familiar space.
A virtual front porch with a rocking chair an old dog and Woody's music become a shared experience. Tall tales are swapped, the whiskey bottle is passed around and good times abound.
It's roots music, the music of the Appalachia mountains amplified across valleys and streams to new audiences it's a bonding experience of past and present you don't have to have lived, to connect to.

Woody's music reconnects me to my Grandfather, a coal miner, a proud hillbilly from Pennsylvania who my earliest memories are of waiting to hear his yodel indicating he was on his way home leaving the smell of my Grandmothers bread in the oven I'd take off through the woods with his harmonica tucked in a pocket hoping to coax a song or two out of him on our walk home.
Simpler times from this distance looking back as we tend to romanticize the past.

His excellent new self-titled release Woody Pines released May 28 on underground label Muddy Roots Recordings
If you’re wondering where the music of Nashville troubadour Woody Pines comes from, look to the streets. It was on the streets as a professional busker that Woody first cut his teeth, drawing liberally from the lost back alley anthems and scratchy old 78s of American roots music, whether country blues, jugband, hokum, or hillbilly. Heavy rollicking street performances are the key to some of today’s best roots bands, like Old Crow Medicine Show (Woody and OCMS’ Gill Landry used to tour the country in their own jugband), and they’re the key to Woody’s intensely catchy rhythms, jumpy lyrics, and wildly delirious sense of fun. Woody traveled all over the streets of this country, road testing his songs, drawing from the catchiest elements of the music he loved and adding in hopped-up vintage electrification to get that old country dancehall sound down right. That’s why the songs on his new self-titled release Woody Pines (released May 28 on underground label Muddy Roots Recordings) are so hot. This is gonzo folk music, the kind of raise-the-rafters, boot-shakin’ jump blues that used to be banging out of juke joints all over the South in the late 1940s, but now it’s burning into the earholes of a younger generation of Nashville kids, all looking for music with deep roots and something to hang on to.
